Latest News.
Thank you to everyone who attended the meeting on 26th January about the exciting changes as Holywell transitions to a secondary school from September 2026.
For those who were unable to join us, please find the presentation attached in the link below.
We are very excited about this next chapter and the opportunities it will bring for our students. At Holywell, our vision has always been for everyone in our community to “Live life in all its fullness”, inspired by our school values of kindness, respect and responsibility. These values have helped shape our supportive, inclusive and aspirational learning environment.
As we become a secondary school, we will continue to build on this strong foundation. Our curriculum has been carefully developed to align with the national Secondary curriculum, with subject specialists delivering a broad and engaging programme of study. For Key Stage 4, we have been planning a range of GCSE courses, including core subjects plus a suite of optional subjects that give students choice and support progression towards future pathways. To see the specific details of our GCSE curriculum please visit our website.
We are very proud that most of our staff are secondary-trained or have deep experience with GCSE teaching, and lots of work has already been done to ensure they are ready to deliver high-quality secondary education.
Holywell’s caring, community-focussed ethos will continue to underpin everything we do. Our aim remains for every student to be known, safe, supported and encouraged to be the best they can be academically, socially and personally. We look forward to supporting students currently in Years 5, 6, 7 and 8 in their next phase of learning.

SpaceX launch 2026 with Jack Hathaway
Sometimes we have to pinch ourselves with the opportunities our staff and the local community provide for our students. This week we worked with Cranfield University to send a good luck message to Commander Jack Hathaway, NASA Astronaut as he went into space this morning. Commander Jack Hathaway visited us last year and worked with our students on space craft design and it was a real treat. Check out the video link below to see what the students said this week:
